Strategies was founded in April of 1991 by Doug and Renae Dobbe in the basement of their home in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Doug was a 10 year industry veteran having served the Vernon Company of Newton, Iowa as a field salesperson and District Sales Manager for 7 years. He then served Appleton based Ad-Vantage Corp. as Midwest Sales manager for 3 years.

Before meeting and marrying Doug, Renae served industry supplier World Wide Arts Studio of Covington, Tennessee as a regional sales manager.

We quickly outgrew our basement and in the fall of 1991 moved into space in the Edison Center along the banks of the Fox River in Appleton.

Originally the name of our company was Nexus. Nexus means a connection or series of connections linking two or more things; a clever name for a brand new promotional marketing company!

We had exciting growth through the 90’s and in September of 1998 we purchased a rundown office/warehouse on Newberry Street on Appleton’s southeast side.

Renovation #1 began immediately, it was a company team project and took place that fall. We moved in January of 1999.

In 2014 we started renovation project #2. Our goal was to create a fun and professional space where our customers could come and feel at home.  We added modern technology and transformed the inside and outside of the building.

This was the start of a new chapter in the story of Strategies.

Once the renovation of our building was complete it was time to renovate our brand.  The inspiration for our original logo came from the knight chess piece. There was however some confusion between our logo and a professional sports team.  We wanted to distinguish our brand and create a brand image that was timeless.

To help reinforce our new look we target 4 main objectives:

BRAND   COMMUNICATE    MOTIVATE    REWARD
